The Luta Pela Vida Group is a non-profit institution founded in 1996 by a group of people who had a great objective of offering well-being and better treatment and cure conditions to cancer patients cared for in Uberlândia.Grupo Luta Pela Vida is responsible for raising funds with the support of companies and society to help maintain the Cancer Hospital through investment in cancer research, acquisition of equipment to improve patient treatment, training of professionals. in the health area, carrying out campaigns and actions with a social impact.And it was in a small rented house in the Umuarama neighborhood, in Uberlândia, that the Group offered the first care to cancer patients coming from the city and from all over the region. Time passed and the structure became more and more precarious due to the great demand of patients.If the initial intention was to build a Hospital a little bigger than the space the patients had in the little house, that all changed after society embraced the cause and believed that those fighting cancer deserved more. On April 8, 2000, the first floor of the Cancer Hospital in Uberlândia was inaugurated, but it was just the beginning. The project was consolidated into a 10,000 square meter structure, with 4 floors, each of which would have a special space for treating the disease, with waiting rooms, quality offices, space for chemotherapy and radiotherapy.Currently, in addition to investing in the expansion of Unit 1, the Fight for Life Group is building Unit 2 of the Hospital do Câncer in Uberlândia, an area of 9,546 m², which will house the Palliative Care Center, Research and Diagnosis Center, the Volunteer Center, the administrative building, among others.Over more than 25 years of history, GLPV has been responsible for expansions, constructions, purchase of equipment and improvement in the training and humanization of professionals, in order to offer 100% free quality service to Uberlândia and the region. In addition, the Group invests in social support and in the development of actions that help improve the well-being and quality of life of patients and caregivers treated at Hospital do Câncer. All actions continue to be possible only through the solidarity of the population and business support.
